Your next client isn't hiding...

When I started writing online, I made a massive mistake.

I posted little tips.

Basic how-to threads.

I'd get a few likes but never any leads.

Then I started talking to the people who liked my posts.

That’s when everything changed.

DMs turned into deals.

And “followers” turned into interested fans.

Too many creators make this about engagement...

Most people think that if they do more, then leads will just flood in.

That's not the case.

Here's where creator miss the mark:

They don't make connecting a priority.

  • People buy from people.
  • Conversations build trust.
  • Trust closes deals.

When your content starts conversations…

You can skip the cold pitch.

And close clients who already like you.

"Every like/comment/follow is an inherent subtle request for information."

I learned that from one of my favorite ghostwriters, Marcos Ruiz.

The issue comes when you post and ghost.

You don't start convos.

Then wonder why nobody buys.

The truth is...

You already have people in your audience who want to.

Most of them need an opening (or invite) to work with you.

So how do you do that?

You start conversations with your content.

Ask questions in your content.

This is simple and effective.

“What’s your biggest struggle with X?”

“What tool do you swear by?”

I've asked many variations of these same questions.

I get a lot of responses.

Why?

Because it creates friction.

But in a good way.

It makes the audience pause.

To me,very answer is an invitation.

Reply.

Dig deeper.

Shoot them a DM.

They already told you what they needed help with.

Share a strong opinion.

I mentioned this breifly in the last issue.

These don't always need to be hot takes...

Just real beliefs.

Something your audience feels but hasn’t said.

When they nod along in the comments...

That’s your in.

They’re saying: “Finally, someone gets it.”

Ask what hit home.

Ask what they’ve tried.

Let your POV lead to their problem.

Then lead them to your offer.

Comment section = Lead list.

Not everyone who engages is a buyer.

But some are.

Look at what they said.

What they liked.

Did they hint at a challenge?

Mention their business?

That’s your signal.

Slide into the DMs with context.

Start the convo.

Follow up after the DM.

Don't just say things like “Thanks for engaging” and then leave it.

That's surface level.

Ask about their work.

Ask about their goals.

They may not be at the stage to become a customer yet.

But here's thing...

They will remember you.

That memory pays off.

Sometimes 2 days later.

Sometimes 2 months later.

But always with some interest.

Here's the deal...

Your next client is already watching you.

Already liking and wondering who you are.

So stop just posting.

And start talking.

Treat your content more like a handshake.

Turn likes into leads.

DMs into deals.

And posts into a full-blown pipeline.

Lurkers can be buyers too.

They just need an opening.

So give them one.

Start a conversation today.

Til next week,

Ken
