Lately, I've been seeing alot of cold content.
When I say "cold", I mean the content is generic...
Like it was written by a bot.
The best content feels personal.
Like a direct message from a friend.
Think about the last post that really hit you...
The one you read twice.
The one that made you nod, comment, and maybe shoot the writer a DM.
Chances are, it felt like they were speaking directly to you.
Not a faceless audience.
Not a list of followers.
Just you.
Now imagine your content doing that.
Pulling people in.
Making them feel seen.
That’s the kind of content that wins.
Unfortunately the internet is noisy.
Thousands of posts flood your feed every hour.
Your audience has seen every growth hack.
Heard every cliché.
Scrolled past every generic post.
If your content doesn’t feel personal—it dies.
No engagement. No shares. No sales.
So how do you stand out?
1. Use Specificity.
Vague content is forgettable.
Specific details make it real.
Instead of saying: "I struggled with content for years."
Say: "I posted daily for 9 months—got 5 likes per post—almost quit."
Specificity makes people trust you.
Because it feels real.
2. Write for One Person.
Most people write for “followers.”
Big mistake.
Write for one person.
Write for a single reader.
Picture your ideal client or a close friend.
What are they struggling with?
What exact words would you say to them?
If your content feels like a group speech, it’s easy to ignore.
If it feels like a private message, they will stay hooked.
3. Make Your Reader the Hero.
Most people make their content about themselves.
Your audience doesn’t care about your journey.
They care about their struggles, their growth, their results.
Instead of saying: “I learned this lesson the hard way.”
Try: “Here’s how you can avoid this painful mistake.”
Instead of: “I scaled my business to 7-figures.”
Say: “Here’s the exact roadmap to scale yours.”
Position your reader as the main character.
Make them feel like the story is about them.
This will make your content more relatable.
4. Break Your Reader’s Pattern.
People scroll mindlessly.
Your job?
Make them stop.
Do something unexpected.
- Start with a bold claim.
- Use an unfinished sentence.
- Then add a gap.
Example:
– “Nobody will tell you this, but…”
– “You’re not failing. You’re just stuck in this cycle.”
– “This advice made me $100K. It’ll probably make you more.”
Disrupt their rhythm.
Hook them instantly.
If they don’t stop, they’ll never read.
5. Make It Emotional.
Anyone can share facts.
Not everyone will share feelings.
Your content should make them laugh, nod, or gasp.
Write about fears they haven’t admitted.
Say what they’re thinking but never say out loud.
When you trigger an emotion, they don’t just read.
They start remembering and relating
Most content blends in.
Yours shouldn’t.
You don’t need more growth hacks.
You need content that feels human.
If you want to write content that:
- Pulls people in
- Builds trust
- Makes money
- Feels effortless
Reply “CONTENT” and I’ll show you how.
Til next time,
Ken
